I am just trying to get to grips with South Africa's broadband. As I am trying to find the best deal package for my family in South Africa. I currently live in the UK and and to give you an idea I have a 20Mb ADSL 2 connection that is up to 20Mb Download and up to 1.3Mb upload and this is not capped. This is not constant but the average works out as about 16Mb download and 512Kb upload and is not shaped. This is on a LLU line and only costs me £10 amount, Rand price is about R135. Now I know the broadband is cheaper in France etc.

I realise from reading here that in South Africa this above still belongs to fairy tale land in South African terms. But there must be some deals out there.

I hate you

What's your question?

Read the second sentence in his post (that's the one at the top of the tread). If you still do not comprehend, comeback here and ask again. I will give you further hints. Eventually we'll get there :D

Find them for us. Please! The best deals is from a Government backed ex-Monopoly, now Duopoly, communications entities that would protect their margins at all cost. With current and ex government members owning shares in these companies and them charging us for all data transfered per GB usage (Up and down) there are no incentives to meet any of the goals you just posted.

Perhaps it's more along the lines of: I simply cannot fathom how to answer such an open ended question.
Perhaps I was asking the OP to reconsider the question and perhaps refine it a little so that it was not so broad in scope.
