Tshwane citywide blackout

Daily is not enough. We are being fed tall stories with no realistic timelines. Etr's are promised but not provided.

I am not affected by mooikloof but by wapadrand outage. We are having to throw away food. The breakdowns are caused by their own negligence as seen above.

The substation has failed on multiple occasions & the fixes provided are patch jobs at best. Promises & lies are all they have to show for themselves.

No we are fed up with this crap.

What do you propose as an alternative action? Protest? Burn tires, act like bafoons and break more infrastructure?
Pitch up with thugs and beat then senseless?

No we have more ethics than that. This is to raise awareness, it has at this time been reported to the press, Carte Blanche, the DA.

Sure we unlikely to see a major change but I am allowed to vent as its costing a crap load of extra money that doesn't grow on trees to try keep working & keep stomachs full.

This is Africa, but South Africa - being without electricity for 9 days doesn't cut it as a paying customer of the electricity infrastructure.

Illegal connections probably contribute to the collapse etc, just do the load reduction thing more, and take off even more strain from the system, more regularly, on a day to day basis.

Daily is enough and a realistic timeline was given for Mooikloof (Saturday), telling people more times a day that they are on track for that day will help how? I could not fault you if you had only posted about Wapadrand, but you hadn't, just f off.

Maybe if we had a fixed connection charge that argument could be made, but CoT doesn't have that implemented luckily. If there is no power, there is no electricity cost on ones bill.

Has this big prolonged outage even been in the news?

I haven't seen anything on Netwerk24.

Another issue that may also exacerbate the situation's the loss of experience as experienced people have left for greener pasturestotalitarian governments, leaving behind a smaller pool of technical people scrambling to keep things running, whilst also struggling financially.

A question that I have started to ask myself : how long before money runs out and municipalities will no longer be able to procure the required spares in order to fix things, whether these be electrical reticulation, roads, water infrastructure, sewage infrastructure etc etc etc...
