TT Connect - IS this even possible????

Ok, while trying to find out why, every night between 2-4:00 my fibre would go dead and would come back around 8-9:00 i came up blank when asking the call center at TT.

Then while chatting to a rep along the way they let on it could have something to do with the power (maybe batteries) running a part of the fibre network going dead during the night and come back daytime.

When pushing for further info they got a bit funny and stopped talking.

MY QUESTION: Is this possible and does anyone have further insight into this? Do these stations run on solar power to run their sections? As i cant believe this is even possible. And if so WTF!

I seriously doubt it. They do have backup power that should kick in, in case of power outages.

Which area are you in?

Shot for the reply.

I may have been given more insight. Apparently the station that is currently running our area (Bedfordview) doesn't currently have electricity so they use batteries, that go dead during the night and in the morning the bring in the generator again to charge them up....

:crying: But apparently they are working on the power situation... So hopefully time will tell.

TT Connect are putting in fibre for me right now in Bedfordview. It wa a big rush at the start with team after team coming and now it's gone quiet. Apparently the supplier hasn't supplied equipment for the street. I have now cancelled my ADSL and have no fibre. Annoying!

How are you finding TT Connect in Bedfordview? I signed up via Axxess.

Well must admit, it was not bad getting the fiber in, even though there is 45 steps in waiting for teams after teams to do each step installed day after day. But once in it was quite good. Have had one or two issues, but they got sorted.

There is however one MASSIVEissue i have with downloading international on my ISP at the moment (Its so slow), so once you up and running on Axxess, it would be epic if you could run some SpeedTest for comparison. As my ISP cant tell me if it is them or TT Connect. Which is weird for me.

Can do no problem. What package are you one just so we know we are comparing apples with apples. I'm getting the 10/10 uncapped.

Sweet.

Well, im on a 100/100 uncapped line.

But general download speeds to international servers hover way below 10% of that. Hence why i want to see another ISPs speeds.

Just interests me.
