I was wondering if there are anyone that is on TT Connect Fibre can give me an idea of what kind of latency/ping they get for online gaming.

Mostly Eu server online games, So I have an idea.

Finally getting Fibre available in my area, but only TT Connect is available, wondering if I should sign up for Fibre or not.

TT Connect is a last mile provider not an ISP, so you will get to choose your ISP :)

TT Connect pushes to use Fredd as an ISP(Which is owned by TT Connect). DO NOT TOUCH THEM... Ask users of Edenvale that is on TT Connect
actually not anymore, they installed the fibre, now I just have to contact the available TT connect ISP, There are a few, like Mweb/Afrihost/Vox/Axxess/cool ideas. etc.

I thought they are more important when it comes to the latency? I had my mind on Afrihost since I am already using them for a long time now. I thought the fibre provider is more important then the ISP when it comes to infrastructure, which dictates the latency? or am I wrong? I know the ISP have like the shaping/throttle control, but I see most of the ISP are unthrottled and unshaped.

Is there nobody on TT connect? regardless of ISP just want to have an idea how the latency/ping is like.

Fibre network generally accounts for like 1-5ms latency so for example i am with Vumatel and Cool Ideas pickup my traffic from Vumatels network at 1ms.

ISP network accounts for latency more, if your fibre network has packet loss or if they sending you to CT when you in JHB then it will affect you very bad.

Ok if that is the case then I just have to check for best isp fibre provider then. Thanks for clarifying that up.

Happy to assist if you have any questions. You can also check our looking glass for latencies to various servers: lg.as328137.net. Typical TT Connect last mile latency adds about 1ms to these numbers.

Other Fibre providers + ISP - 50Mbps/50Mbps @ R735pm
