Good day everyone

Can I please ask for your input. My mom is looking between these 2 vehicles and is very confused and I am not so familiar with these brands and would appreciate word of mouth rather than what the dealers say. With that being said has anyone or anyone you know had experience with these vehicles? Which one would you recommend?
I personally would go X-Tail because it is diesel. I dont know how strong the Tucson engins is but I think its a small engine for that car eventhough it has turbo.

Car 1
2016 Tucson 1.6 AWD

Car 2
2016 X-Trail 1.6 4X4 dCi LE

Both cars are DEMOs and have about 10 000KMs on the Clock. Your opinions and input will be very much appreciated.

Does that Tucson come with the 7 year / 200 000 kilometre warranty? If yes, the choice is a no-brainer. That 1.6T produces 130 kW and 265 N·m, which is adequate.

The X-Trail does 96 kW and 320 N·m.

Yes it does and thank you for your input

The old X -Trails had so much boot space room it was insane.

Sadly, compact SUVs have just become glorified hatchbacks.

Better off getting an MPV or stationwagon.

The X-Trail is a excellent vehicle and the resale will be better.
Both are nice but I would go X-Trail.

But if you had to choose between these two vehicles which one would you choose and why?

Does it have to be 4x4?

My project manager just wrote off his new x-trail and replaced it with a new CRV. He reckons the CRV is sooooo much better in every aspect except fuel economy...

Yeah my mom wants AWD/4X4.... Let check the CRV and see how it compairs

None of the mentioned vehicles are proper 4x4 though?
CRV is also AWD. New one is also 1.6 diesel, with a 9 speed autobox.

X-Trail is much bigger than Tucson in size. So if size matters then X-trail is the way to go.

Yeah I am aware, she wont go offroad with the car its just for when she has to drive in mud/wet grass so that she does not suffer from RWD car problems

Tucson - compact crossover SUV
X-Trail - mid-size crossover SUV

The Qashqai is Nissan's Compact SUV. Competitors for the Tucson will be Ford Kuga, Mazda CX-5, Honda CRV, Kia Sportage, Qashqai, VW Tiguan, Mitsubishi ASX, Rav 4 etc etc

Having said that, Nissan's SUV's the Qashqai & X-trail tend to be almost in between Small SUV & Compact for the Qashqai and between Compact & Mid for the X-Trail in size but they're priced as Compact for Qashqai & Mid for X-Trail

So Hyundai's answer to the X-Trail would be the Santa Fe
