Tucson vs X-Trail

Yeah I am aware, she wont go offroad with the car its just for when she has to drive in mud/wet grass so that she does not suffer from RWD car problems

They're all front wheel drive (or awd), but I get what you're saying.
Personally I'd probably go for the X-Trail, to me it's a gorgeous vehicle and Nissan has (for the most part) a pretty decent track record of reliability (if not downright outstanding).

Problems?

A bit of wet grass doesn't justify the extra cost of the pretend awd of these type of vehicles. You should get your mom up to speed with some technical info and maybe a driving course or two rather.

Tucson - compact crossover SUV
X-Trail - mid-size crossover SUV

The Qashqai is Nissan's Compact SUV. Competitors for the Tucson will be Ford Kuga, Mazda CX-5, Honda CRV, Kia Sportage, Qashqai, VW Tiguan, Mitsubishi ASX, Rav 4 etc etc

Having said that, Nissan's SUV's the Qashqai & X-trail tend to be almost in between Small SUV & Compact for the Qashqai and between Compact & Mid for the X-Trail in size but they're priced as Compact for Qashqai & Mid for X-Trail

So Hyundai's answer to the X-Trail would be the Santa Fe

If you are considering the Tucson then you need to directly compare it to the Squishsquash (Qashqai)

Recently got a Tucson and loving it - its slightly larger than the Qashqai. We got the 2.0 Auto though - 115 odd KW and 190-odd NM. Comes with tons of features that the Nissan didn't have (cross traffic alert, BLIS). Also need to check the multimedia interface, the Tucson is only now introducing the 7inch touch screens so earlier models will have the one from 1996

One note on the warranty though - it is 7yr / 200k for CERTAIN components of the drivetrain. Not all - unless the dealer adds in the extra components to the deal (fine print)

I knew it!!! There must be a catch... Now I wonder what those components are...

I've even had problems with their warranty, right after buying a new car. Escalated it all the way to Korea and just got a big fat FU.

X-Trail for sure. Better quality vehicle in basically all aspects and definitely bigger too.

Ok So my moms took the offer to purchase for both cars to the bank and they only processed the one for the X-Trail :( and she says she will just stick to the X-Trail because she does not want to go through the trouble again... Not so sure this is a smart move....
