Tuition fees for SA universities compared

When I started in 2007 at Wits a BSc was around R28000+...I would hate to know what international students pay now.
It does get better though, post-graduate degrees are heavily subsidised by most Universities.

The majority of German universities are subsidised by the government. Public universities charge no or relatively low tuition fees. According to Ulrike Hartmann from the online portal www.studieren.de, "as a rule, no public universities charge tuition fees for bachelor's degree programmes."

The educational sector in Germany is not centrally regulated. Each of the 16 states has its own higher education laws and can decide on whether to charge tuition fees or not. At present, Bavaria and Lower Saxony are the only states in Germany which charge tuition fees - 500 euros per semester. The good news is that the fees will be discontinued in Bavaria starting next winter semester, and in Lower Saxony starting in the winter semester 2014/15.
