Tutorial DRIFTA on ANY Android Device

Just tried on dhd... sadly, as I knew it wouldnt, doesnt work. I get the, UnSupported Device error...
Happy for the guys who have rooted devices and is working. Good show!
 
Anyone know how temp root a DHD, because I'm happy with it as is, I just want to be able to use my drifta.

Just tested it, working with the original market app on a rooted nexus s, just made the prop change and rebooted and all was well. No need for the megaupload file
 
Got a rooted Galaxy S2 so no need to modify build.prop. Just installed the Apk and it works hundreds. Thanks :)

Hmmm.... Did the build.prop mod on my Herotab M816. App installed but crashes to home screen on authenticating. Then tried on my Asus Transformer and it moans that the device is not supported. There must be something else the app checks too.
Could someone with a DHD send me their build.prop so I can compare files please (sold my DHD already)?

try installing the app that is on the market, then do the build.prop.

App from megaupload - bypass ROOT check
Build.prop - Bypass Device Supported Check

The application looks into the build.prop to see if your phone is one of the supported models thats why you have to change it to trick the application. Try the orignal app on your herotab?
 
Hmmm. My DHD worked 100s on my Leedroid ROM - I just happen to be in a Drifta deadzone.

All my devices are rooted so need the megaupload version. Got it working fine on my rooted SGS2.

for fear of dstv actually prosecuting me, i'll use a different account.

this version skips the root check and fakes the authentication token it sends to the dstv servers; so no build.prop modification required. works on my htc device. please let me know if your device works.

Still failed on my Herotab at auth and drops to the home screen.
On my Asus Transformer however - 100% :)

its a pleasure. thanks for the feedback.

on your herotab, do you get an "authentication failed" message before dropping? if not, i suspect there might be a hardware incompatibility.
 
I must say the timing of this whole drifta saga could not have been better.

You are a ****ing legend.
Works on My Desire HD! No Root Required (Saved me alot of headache)
Doesnt work on My Galaxy Tab 10.1v.

Shows channel list, but when i click on a channel, it looks like its gonna work, then crashes and closes.

Anyway we can get it to skip the Internet connectivity check?

Another Idea...

Any way to tell the device that the drifta wifi signal is NOT an internet connection. Its a bit frustrating becuase when the wifi is on and connected to something, the device turns off the mobile data, so things like whatsapp, emails etc wont come through when you are watching DstvMobile...
Any thoughts?
