TV Card issues

so i can watch tv on my pc in my room. thing is ive heard only certain tv cards will pick up dstv (im no expert so im seeking advice first)

Ok, now I'm with you.
This tv card will only allow you to watch stuff like sabc and etv - nothing that is encoded, like dstv.

And as far as I know, you will always have to plug a cable from an antenna into the tv card in your computer.

ah ok, do you know if there is 1 that'll allow both sabc and encoded?

I had a look at this product:

It appears that you cannot view full screen (720*480, etc), which is ok. Is recording also done at the viewing resolutions?
