TV digital switch help

You know you will. The government (or ICASA) will simply change the requirements of the license to "any device on which you can view television [or contains a "tv-tuner"]).
I agree with froot. It's entirely possible to break into you domestic's room while she's away and steal her "box" to watch Chuck Norris, or something. :D

Surely you pay the licence for the box anyway and not the viewer, so even if you chose to steal hers it would already have a licence paid for!

If it her other box your are after then I have no desire to partake in this conversation... :)

Frooty loops

My dad was on the board for the pebblebed. There were other issues that finally ended it.

Froot, what are you on about? The PBMR is alive and well, just last month I atended a presentation given by consultant design engineers as to the Progress made thus far on the PBMR

That already the case. They license the reception of the broadcast not the Device receiving it. Thus any device capable of receiving a TV signal broadcast by SABC must be licenced, even the PC TV card viewers.

Can I get one too? I don't even watch SABC and I have to have a SABC license.

it ain't a sabc license, you pay for the privilege of being able to view tv, and no you not getting a box for free either.

If people can pay for licences why not make the settop box same price as a licence

Could someone clear up something for me. If I have a DSTV decoder would the changing from analogue to digital affect me in anyway?

Haven't seen anything yet (but wasn't really paying attention), Has SABC decided on a standard for their broadcasts yet? (dvb-t,dvb-s, etc...)

When will we be able to buy TV's with digital tuners??

How about 2.4 Billion to provide free/cheap broadband +cheap PCs. Who the F needs tv when you've got cheap braodband???????
Muppets.
