Is anyone else experiencing outages of SABC or ETV in the Cape Town area?
My SABC 1 and 2 is working, SABC 3, ETV and CTV aren't working. I'm receiving from the Tygerberg side.
My dad has the same problem and he is receiving from the Constantia side.
My granddad has no channels at all.

Anyone else experiencing it as well?

Yes, dead in N suburbs. It started yesterday. Was down during the day, up last night, but now it's down again. Guessing it's a transmission tower that's acting up. UHF band is dead and that's where I get the best signals for SABC3 and etv.

I wonder if there's any chance they upgrading the tower to digital ?

It's weird, it's all working now, but I mean people only getting certain channels.
We have 2 TV's in the house on different ariels, and mine was only getting SABC 1 and 2, but the main TV wasn't receiving anything.

That is most probably the case. SABC2 carried a notice last night just after 7de Laan that they'll be performing "essential maintenance" on the Tygerberg transmitter on the 12th (today). The signal was down from 9-4 yesterday and today.

I've noticed that they are randomly tackling the transmission towers to perform "essential maintenance" on them. Think I'll go out to buy a DVB-T card to check my theory ;)
