Hi guys

I'm planning on getting myself a PS4, and I'm looking for a nice Full HD TV I can buy to best support the gameplay experience. I have been using my 22inch LED PC monitor for my PS3, but now with a little bit of help from SARS, I'm looking to invest in a proper HDTV. Preferably a 32inch Samsung, LG or JVC, but any decent brand will do around +-R5000. Thanks :)

JVC is not decent.

If you keep an eye out, you should be able to find a 40/42" Samsung/LG LCD for R5k

I played around with Dual Play on my LG this weekend...this is the ish. I highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for a "Gaming TV".

What is this dual play you talk of? Anyone know if dual output is an option on Ps4? Or at least vertical split screen?

Dual Play technology, allows two-player gaming on the full screen, without the need for a split screen. Each player is able to see his unique point-of-view (in 2D) across the entire screen at the same time without giving away his location to his opponent; with dual play glasses.

The ps4 has only one hdmi input, so it would seem unlikely that it would support dual output.

Do some research for the optimum viewing distance for different tv sizes, you may find out you can get a bigger screen tv than 32"

Okay, thanks, I'll keep an eye out and avoid JVC. Any specific model you can recommend, or does it really matter?

Samsung UA40EH5000/5300 (better pricing should be coming since the newer F range is out). Not sure about LG. They tend to be 2" bigger though.

Doubt it needs dual output, it should work the same as SBS 3D.

The TV expects the device to output split screen (either vertical or horizontal), it then stretches and polarizes each half to the odd or even lines (in dual play mode). You then use dual play glasses which have the same polarization on both lens i.e. e+e & o+o (different from the 3D glasses which are e+o).

I have only seen the sony TV do this, but it's 32" so never took interest. So LG and Samsung can do the same thing?

32" is a bit small. You want something bigger like a 40/42"

When I get into a game the display quality really stops mattering all that much to me. So if it is not the be all and end all you'll be able to pick up a nice big ass TV with a 5 year warranty from one of the more "budget" brands like Hisense and Sinotech.

The PS3 does on Sony 3D TVs. They even had a specific bundle for it at one stage.
