TV lifts

Was toying with the idea to build one.. Last o checked the mechanism was around 5k, so definitely cheaper to build it..

Yeah there's a shop in Joburg selling the mechanism.

Think it might be a better way. I know a good local wood worker that did my under bench draws for my workshop. Was happy with his work.

I'm sure he can knock up a wooden box with a flip lid or something like that.

Looks nice, but as @WAslayer above, with some mechanical know-how and linear actuators. You can build one for less. All you need is a mechanical engineer, a welder and a carpenter....

Just get a carpenter and use this from Takealot:

Plus a linear actuator, with a gear rack and pinion setup, a proximity switch and a cooling extraction setup, coupled with a manual option and power bank back-up. Easy.

Huh? Maybe i missed something, but that item on Takealot is powered. And a fan when the TV is out? Why?

Can't you just hook an exercise bike and chain to it and tell the wife to go peddle when you want to watch some TV?
