Tv services to replace dstv

We have decided to cancel dstv.
I would like to find out what ip tv is the best and do i need a vpn for ip tv. We looking for movie, series documentary and sports channel's.

We are also looking for a streaming media device. Is there any 2nd hand going around? And will 2gb ram be sufficient or more. My budget for a 2nd hand streaming device is R1000
