Tweet from Pieter Uys

Was just coming to post this. Well, this should've been the first step to take.

The bad press and negative sentiment from clients are out there already.

Great. This is what should have been done in the first place.

I too am happy to hear this - Thanks for opting to not throttle now and reconsider the decision.
I am sure it hasn't been fun for you Jannie and ocleroux (unfair posters that don't follow the good work you guys do).
Hey RPM - MyBB FTW!

Woohoo, proof that Vodacom do listen, even if it does take a two day outcry on our part.

As everyone else has already stated, this should have been the initial move on VC's part...

Great news. Congratulations to MyBB and Vodacom for providing this platform for customers.

Thank you. I am now happy!

This should have been done in the first place, instead of letting the media tell us about our impending doom. :)

Agreed. Should not have gone public until a real solution had been found.

Kudos to Vodacom I suppose for having the balls to change their stance - for the moment at least. But they did get ripped a new one the last two days so an attempt to starve this fire of oxygen makes sense. They should rip their marketing bigwigs some new ones...

I highly doubt that this exercise in futility was vetted by their marketing department, nor the PR team. Or they objected and were told to shut it. I cannot see any decent PR team approving of this without a fight...

Then either marketing/PR or the real top brass ****ed up big time. Or both.

Vodacom still sucks. Their data prices suck, their network sucks, their arrogance sucks and red still sucks.

As immature as that sounds, you still the biggest loser in my book.

I don't think Vodacom were prepared for the backlash. They forgot about the most important part of business-their customers.

How could they not be though...? I don't mind it though. Two days of hurting their image without any benefit to them. This was a perfect follow up to their Data discounts which raised some of the bundle prices above the originals. Go VC..! :D
