Twitter has a hate problem

Not to mention the occasional furore over something insignificant.

This has now been happening on FB as well, in a way. Mass reporting of pages leads to pages being automatically unpublished, such as the anti GMO and anti vaxxers versus the scientific pages. It's pathetic.

The problem is not to identify and block trolls, but to teach a computer to do it. Massive carrot for AI researchers?

Twitter has a selective censorship problem and a panel of SJW's (eg. Anita Sarkeesian) consulting with them who are trying to encourage a "safe space" mentality, which is counterproductive to a successful social media platform.

Milo Y was banned over comments directed at a Ghostbusters actress, who has a history of racially toned tweets, yet extremist organisations such as ISIS are given free reign to conduct their recruitment and operations unabated on Twitter. If the aim is to truly to stamp out hate then this does not make any sense whatsoever.

Well, I'm not big on social networks, but I was under the impression that you can block and report followers? Or are people liking the attention, even if it's coming from a troll?

No, the internet has this problem, not one particular area of it only.

This article is like saying /b/ has a hate problem...

Difference is 4chan has a disclaimer... People take Twitter and social networks in general too seriously.

The stories and information posted here are artistic works of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact.

I read sometime back that the US govt doesn't like the terrorist accounts shut down as it provides intel.

Exactly. I also don't see why people are supporting what could roughly be construed as censorship. Block the follower and move on people! No boo hoo's needed.
