Twitter will no longer allow jet-tracking accounts

Twitter Inc. suspended multiple accounts that track the locations of private jets using publicly available flight data, including one that followed the plane of the company’s owner, Elon Musk.

Musk publicly declared last month that he would not ban the account even though he saw it as a safety risk, saying that it was evidence of his commitment to free speech.

A best-I-can-tell timeline for folks who want to get all caught up:

Nov 7: Elon tweets "My commitment to free speech extends even to not banning the account following my plane, even though that is a direct personal safety risk"

An unintended consequence of Elon's tweet is that ElonJet gets tens of thousands of new followers.

Dec 14: Twitter suspends the ElonJet account. No explanation given.

Dec 14: Jack Sweeney, the owner of the ElonJet and other jet tracking accounts tweets screenshots, allegedly received from a whistleblower at twitter, showing twitter's new head of trust and safety, Ella Irwin, instructing staff to apply heavy filtering to ElonJet tweets.

Dec 14: Jack Sweeney's personal account is suspended.

Dec 14: Jack Sweeney's other jet tracking accounts are suspended.

Dec 14: Twitter blocks folks tweeting links to Jack Sweeney's IG jet tracking accounts.

Dec 14: Twitter retroactively updates it's TOS to cover the suspensions.

Dec 14: Twitter unsuspends Jack Sweeney's account.

Dec 15: Twitter suspends Jack Sweeney's account again.

There, all caught up.

Also...

Here's the publicly-available location of Elon's jet right now:

Wouldn't surprise me coming from that toad.
I take it you've seen his defense of Jussie Smollet :), his attacks on the Convington kid, the mostly peacful rioters and Rittenhouse to name a few more. The Bubba Wallace noose story...

His takes are the stuff of legendary stupidity. Never learns.
