Two accounts on one ADSL line

Hi guys. Is it possible to use two accounts, say one Telkominternet and one Axxess acount on one single ADSL line?

I want my brother to use his own ISP on his laptop while I use my ISP on my PC at the same time.

If it is possible please let me know how to set it up.

If you have a router, and it supports PPPoE, then yes.

If you have a USB modem thingymabob, then maybe - more tricky though.

What do you have?
 
What router do you have? It needs to be in bridged mode. Then you just set up a pppoe connection on each pc.

ME too! :p

Just access the router gateway in Internet Explorer or Firefox, by typing 10.0.0.2

Enter the username and password (if it's default, then it should be admin admin)
[Quick tip, change the default router password if you haven't already]

Look at the "Interface Setup" page and click on "bridge mode" under Encapsulation.

Save the setting at the bottom. Now create a new connection in Windows Network connections>broadband connection PPPoE> enter ISP username and password and click ok and save and dial ;)

Do the connection setup on both pc's ;) :D
 
My father currently has one Telkom ADSL line and his provider is Cybersmart. i am using the connection to access the internet, but have recently looked a getting a MWEB uncapped subscription, my dad is old school and doesn't not want to do this.
Now i was wondering if it would be possible to have two providers on one ADSL line and router, e.g for him to be connected with the cybersmart account at the same time as i am connected with my MWEB account. Meaning that i we don't have to alternate between the two accounts.

i cannot convince my dad to switch providers. i have tried

sure, but keep in mind the capacity of the line (in terms of speed) gets shared. ie, he won't get full speed while you are using your account and visa-versa
