Hi guys, I'm looking after my cousins house for a couple of days and would like to use my own ISP instead of there's but don't want to stuff up there settings on the router.
So how would I go about doing it? There router is a Netgear DGN2200Mv2.

Thanks

If its the Telkom one it should already be setup for pppoe dialup from your pc.

Set up a PPPoE connection on your pc and see if it connects. If it does not then you need to change settings on their router.

I actually want to use my Afrihost account with my PS4 because I'm having issues using there ISP.
Is there a way two have the two different ISP logins on the one router and just swap between them when I want?

Enter the ISP details on the PS4 itself

Will that bypass the settings on the router?
Yes, try it, if it doesn't work then it means you have to change the mode the router is using. PPoE with bridging, or something along those lines. Some manufacturers call it pass-through, etc.

There also a setting where I can change the wan, wan1 to wan 2. Can I put the afrihost settings under wan2 and just change between the two on the router when I desire?

lol I don't want to mess up my cousins settings and I can't do it now because I'm busy downloading warframe and its taking for ever

What the guys are saying above is 100s but if PPPOE doesn't work you need to enable it on the router 192.168.0.1 login and then go into WAN setup and "Enable PPPoE Relay" if its already ticked you good to go. :)

I've tried setting up wan 2 for afrihost but don't know how to set it as default. Tried my pppoe username and password with my ps4, no luck. Filled out the pppoe session 2 fields with my afrihost settings.

If its relaying pppoe it should work no problem. I don't mean to be mean but do you know how to create a pppoe connection on the pc?

Connect to the Internet wizard will guide you through the steps of setting up a Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) Internet connection.

1 Open the Connect to the Internet wizard by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, clicking Network and Sharing Center, clicking Set up a connection or network, and then clicking Connect to the Internet.

2 On the How do you want to connect? page, select Broadband (PPPoE).

3 Continue to follow the steps in the wizard.

Trying to connect my ps4 and they have a mac which is also confusing things. The network is my ps4 connected to the router so I don't see how having the pc or in this case the mac connect helps me. I've tried my pppoe settings on the ps4 it doesn't work.
It looks like I'm just going to have to swap the pppoe log in settings on the router every time. I wanted to somehow have the ps4 connet to the one ISP and everything else on the network use the other ISP.

Are you connecting wired or wireless?

coz wireless tends to be that stubborn biatch from school you never liked (sometimes)
