Poachers have darted and dehorned two rhinos at the private Fairy Glen Game Reserve near Worcester.

A team of highly organised poachers chased the rhinos, leaving a nine-year-old bull bleeding in a ditch and a six-year-old cow was found crumpled under a bush, said owner Pieter de Jager.

The cow is pregnant, but must now have an abortion

A quick death is too good for poachers

F@#$ing animals themselves, they are like rabid dogs that should be hunted down , darted and hacked to death slowly.

I now know why I am misanthropic

I would have said cut off their penises, but they're Chinese. . .

How about we legalize Rhino Poaching, the price will go up significantly to an extend where it would be profitable for people to protect the Rhinos. Supply will hit demand etc.

I have a friend whose field of study is rhinos.

His opinion is that a rhino farming industry is possible, producing 5000 tons of horn a year, which is what the projected demand is in China.

Farming them would mean hi-tech poaching would be unsustainable, and is, in my friend's opinion, the only way to save the rhino.

Also, interestingly, many more rhinos die of natural causes than are poached. Until he told me that, I thought the most rhinos were killed by poaching.

Exactly why we need to protect the few we have.

I never understand how it is okay to legalise animal exploitation in order to keep control of the trade but ask those who suggest this whether we should do the same with drugs or prostitution and they think you are psycho.

That's the best post I've read today.

How about we poison the horns with a deadly toxin.

When thousands start dying the market will die as well.

I have read somewhere that they going to use some sort of dye that would burst or something and this would cause the horn to be off colour and off no use

but not sure how that would help

ay best thing to have trackers to monitor heart rate and as soon as heart rate jumps ....the animal should be checked out
