Two new DSTV Channels

All Africa Poker channel what a joke it has been missing for the past six months clowns!!!

"New" is a bit of a strong word to use when channels are renamed - same joke as when the BBC launched "4 new channels" (in fact 2 new and 2 renamed).

I'm wondering, will Vuzu still have "Adult Swim"?

yesses they are cutting the HD bandwidth. That is seriously screwed up.
 
Multichoice, if you are reading this (does anyone there actually read?) here's what I would like and how much I would be prepared to pay for it:

Basic access to DStv: I'd pay R200 a month
Premier channels like MNET, SS1 I would pay R25 per month for each
Other channels I would add to my bouquet at no more than R10 per month per channel.

I would be happier paying R350 per month for 12 channels that me and my family would actually watch, than pay R600 per month for the dozens of other channels I get absolutely NO gratification of any kind for. Examples include but are not limited to;

- MM2
- MStar
- Africa waka-waka
- FTV
- Style Network
- E!
- SS2
- SS3
- SS4
- ESPN
- ESPNC
- C&I
- History
- about 10 foreign news channels I will never watch

Please, how about giving ME the power of choosing what I would like to pay for and add to my bouquet? Your selections are sh1te.

Check out the M-Net HD's Bitrate Drops thread under DSTV, TV And Multimedia. I am the one who revealed the "scandal" on the DStv Forum. They then subsequently deleted my thread and moved the posts to some other unrelated thread in a cover-up attempt. I then made the truth clear here on MyBB, with proof! Maybe I should become a journo; I'd kick ass!
 
I got DSTV for the first time when they launched the HD decoder. And how dissappointed I am with it. My main reasons for subscribing: Mnet HD, All Africa Poker, Sports.

Shortly after Poker was moved to interactive and that feature was lost for me. Now they are bringing down the quality of Mnet HD, so I end up paying R600 for sports and inferior quality HD.

I think I'll reconsider my options... if I had any.

You're part of the reason why they're deleting the Poker Channel; you don't know where to find it.
Go to channel 100. Press OK. Scroll down to Poker Channel. Press OK again. And there you go. The Poker Channel as it's always been. In fact, because it's on the DStv Touch menu, and chs 100 and 137 are accessible even without any subscription, you can watch the Poker Channel FOR FREE. Don't believe me? Pull out your smartcard and go to ch 100 and go to Poker Channel. Free as a wild bird.

I cut mine, what a waste of money, thats 6000 per year for s h i t e TV
Pay per channel choice is what they need to offer
Hail the 8MB line it will be the DSTV killer one day when IPTV kicks ass
 
Dropping Go was stupid. Vuzu is basically a smokescreen to make it look like they're providing more, when in fact it's just the same thing with a different name, but a tad more crappy.
 
get full dstv get extra view and share with neighbour. their prices goes up and the level of service goes down it's the african way......:sick:
 
I still see my DSTv as a bargain, though I have an SD PVR and am happy with it.
I'm not over the moon about all the price increases, especially when they mess up times, screw up commentary channels or show the wrong stills before shows.

On the plus side, my kids love the kids channels and my wife really enjoys her TV too.

For me, I wouldn't want an HD PVR even if I could get it for free. I have access to one and it's total crap, especially when you consider that you have to pay an additional amount for 1 extra channel that does not provide anything new, apart from the better picture quality, which seems like it will be reduced too. People who baught HD-Ready instead of Full HD would probably be rather happy with the saving they made right at this point.

I'd reconsider this view, once they start broadcasting more channels on HD and when the sport that I watch are constantly broadcast in HD.

I'm also a little irritated by the fact they they [sacked] Joost for something he did in his private life. I'm sure some of you would disagree, and probably rightly so, but I didn't follow his rugby comments because he was a fine upstanding individual. Rather, he knows his rugby and good rugby views are hard to come by in SA [in my view].
So, I guess I'm religated to Reunion and Murray Mexted and co until they bring him back.

Other than that, bring back the SCI FI CHANNEL!! :)

Doesnt help, not everyone gets the interactive channels. I have an SDPVR and I watch on the second channel. I used to watch the poker every night and now I cannot access it. Bring Poker back to a proper channel and we will watch it! Also cut all the useless channels no one watches and bring back Sci-Fi too. Don't really care for HD, as it is not worth it. I agree it doesn't cost extra in subs, but it does cost extra in getting a new decoder, new installation, Xtra View and don't forget all the grief that comes with it when it doesn't work, programs not recorded fully, or not at all, freeze ups and all the other problems people write about all the time.

I cant believe they cutting the HD channel lower!I don't play a extra R100 for HD and extra view for rubbish signal....DSTV and messing us consumers around!

Multichoice the new Telkom!Lets call it multiinvoice!
