Two routers on one ADSL line not working

I have two adsl router on one 38K line. A Netgear DG834 and a Telkom one port pots router
Both sync indivudally weh nthe other one is not connected. But as soon as I put on the Netgear the other router doesn't sync and the DSL light just flashes.

Can you run two routers of the same ADSL line or is this not possible?
 
You can put 2 routers on a line, but one has to be a broadband router, I.E. it has a WAN port, not a DSL port that connects to the phone line.

Thus the router that connects to the phone line will do the sync with the DSLAM, and make a authenticating connection, and the broadband router will plug into the ADSL router and just make a authenticatig connection.
Just remember to set the ADSL router in half bridged mode.
 
You cannot try to sync one line with two different adsl routers. It was never designed to do this.
 
The reason why I need want it like that s because it is two PCs are on opposite sides of the house with only phone connections on both sides. Taking an ethernet cable between them is not an option.

What about a normal wireless router? If you're planning on sending files from one pc to another then wireless isn't a viable option though
 
The home plug acts as like a switch, where it can "connect" two networks over a power cable, inside the same grid. So, put a switch / hub on the one side, and connect 2 PC's to it, then connect a switch on the other side to the other home plug, and they are all on the same LAN. OR, get a cheap 300Mbps wifi AP, and connect that to your existing ADSL router (presuming you have the wireless model) and you have better "roaming", especially nice if you have a laptop, then you can sit & work by the pool :)

Bull man.

As mentioned, the DSL modem syncs with the exchange and only one sync can be done at any given time. As soon as you try another sync you could either a) not sync, or b) kick the first sync and then manage the second. Usually a) applies.
You have easy solutions to this: a) ethernet cable (come on, it's not that hard), b) (and preferred) make use of wireless or c) PoE....

If you put the 1st modem into bridge mode, and have the 2nd modem handle both connections, then it's possible :) BUT, then the 2nd modem needs to be capable of making a PPPoE connection + ADSL, i.e. it needs a separate WAN port as well.

This is exactly what Kroks said earlier. The 1 router has to be an ADSL modem/router and the other one has to be a broadband (non ADSL) router - both capable of dialing PPPoE connections. With a setup like that, both of the routers would have to be connected to each other via WiFi OR Ethernet cable.
If your 2 PC's are too far apart for WiFi and you don't want to make an effort to lay CAT5e/CAT6 ethernet cables, then that Billion EoP solution would be your best bet of connecting them.
