Two weeks and still no 10mb webspace

Still no webspace... so it makes it faaaaaar too long.

My last call reference id was 37849. I'm now seeing if the
Al Queda don't have a request list, because Telkom needs
to be put out of their misery....[}:)]

Hi guys

I agree. This is simply not acceptable. I hope we get a response from Telkom on the matter soon, but whatever excuse is given, BlueICE should not have to pay for this service. Most other companies would have refunded the client and give them some other special treatment out of pure embarrassment. Let us see what Telkom’s solution holds…

Has anyone any info on how to log into your webspace? Or FTP address through a Telkom Prolog Account?

I was looking at this thread and realised that in the fax sent to me with all account info, there was NO MENTION OF FTP ACCESS. No wonder I forgot! I have just phoned internet tech support (12:20am) and am told by staff (from ????? SAIX) that they have limited access to any of this info and can't help. I'll have to be called 'tomorrow morning'. Ho hum. Hope it happens. I mentioned to him that general FTP access info would solve my problem - and, in future, other user's of this service too. In order to cover all eventualities without delays... this should have been incorporated into all 'support' staff reference docs ages ago.

I notice from 'rpm', a letter sent to Mr White in Sept 03 on the webspace account issue, and still this has not helped with Telkom support as of December.

Hi guys.

I think I have the solution for you.

This morning i decided, what the hell, let me try to set up this free webspace of mine.

Two calls, one to normal 0800375375, and then to Telkom Internet. For some strange reason, I didn't even have to hold.

At Telkominternet, the guy that answered the phone immediately told me that they would not be able to help me, but gave me an email address for the lady that sets up the accounts.

Emailed her at about 10:00, and lo and behold, at 14:00 she replied with all the details on where to ftp your site to, username and password.

For once, thank you Telkom.

Now just get the other issues correct.

BTW: the email address to use is [email protected]

State your login name and the phone number for the adsl line, and hopefully they will reply just as quick to you as they did to me.

Are there no lawyers/attorneys that are members of MyADSL? There are legal inroads here where Telkom can be nailed for breach of contract (as mentioned earlier in this forum). The webspace is not the only issue.

We must have at least one legal person somewhere here??

I think we should club together sum bucks and get a Legal Wise account at www.legalwise.co.za It's 38 beans a month, peanuts.

We can all just deposit like 10 or 20 a month into their account and they can be the ones who fight Telkom for us. Anyone in???

Hi,

to be honest, I remember that this issue was actually resolved by Telkom.

They sent a letter with instructions which RPM duly posted.

I just can't find it [:(]

South Africa needs World Class Broadband at World Competitive Prices.

See Announcements topic 'Telkom Feedback (Web space)' posted by rpm 10/10/2003 17:44:49 on page 5...

So is no-one up for the Legal Wise thing?? Come on don't be chicken, what have we got to lose?

Telkom is screwing us around so let's screw them around!

If none of you will do it i'll do it on my own. I don't even have DSL and i'm more the bliksim in with TK than anyone here. Come on guys, MyADSL is step one, step two is the legal route. C'mon!

May I suggest that this be coordinated by rpm, even if only out of courtesy as the MyADSL Administrator/Founder? Nothing stopping you from pursuing an individual course of action, but as a group action of MyADSL members it should be under his auspices, to my way of thinking. rpm please comment...

The other thing is I would suggest we wait until a response is received from ICASA, based on the submission currently being collated by rpm - see Announcements topic 'ICASA Complaint'. Also a response (if any) from WISIS - all of this would provide valuable input to prospective legal action for contract breaches, I believe...
