My tazz for some reason eats front tyres. So anybody got recomdations for a hard waring tyre. Taking it in next week to see what they say.

If your roads are bad & you have a soft wearing tyre, you end up taking a lot of KM's off their lifespan.

So you have the right idea. Your Tazz does not go so fast that you need soft compound tyre, for safety (handling etc). The harder the cheaper but don't go to hard, road noise can be a bitch.

What size you look at?

Any hard compound tyre would do.

I'm assuming your tire compound is too soft. Speak to the tyre salesmen. You get different types of compound.

-stop doing wheelspins when the light turns green, kinda "eats" the tyres :D

Maybe swap them for the back tyres when they have about 40% left, that way last longer till next purchases. (I know it costs a lump to then do 4 tyres)

it could also be something as silly as wheel alignment being out, this can decrease the life you get out of your tires too, R250 for an alignement could help.
just a thought

Get 31X10.5X15 BFG Mud Terrain tyres hahahaha:D

Also check your wheel alignment. and rotate your tyres every 30000kms

Agree on rotation, but the correct time to do it, front to back, back to front on the same side, is every 12000km...Tiger Wheels will do it for free every 12 000 km as well.

Front tyres wearing badly usually (in 99% of the cases) means that you have an alignment problem...sort that out first...and stop parking against curbs!!

Driver problem, A Tazz even with wheel alignment issues manages to keep its tyre thread. Do you have standard wheels?

Yes I do have standard tyres.

Type are 155/80 13"

You see our roads are in a bad way and we got steep hills and sometimes that can make you wheel spin but not very often.

I was told that when rotating. The back tyres will go in front on the same side. then the front will go at the back but on the opposite side. And i nromally do mine every 5000km

Where'd you get that? Wheel alignment issues can make anything chow tyres.

If your front wheels toe-in or out excessively, you'll chow tyres when going straight as the tyres try to push towards or pull away from each other.

Even 2 degrees would equate to dragging your tyres 35 metres sideways over every 1km driven.

Ok got new continental tyres,WOW what a diffrence. Alignment was also done.
Hopefully it will last 40k km-60k km. Tnx marco lucly i dont do that try to park in the middle of the parking bay.

I bought Pirelli 175/70/R13's for R365 each incl a&b.
Bloody cheap

Bought Pirreli 215/65 R16s for R1300 each (cheapest ones we could find in that size) in September, done 15k on them and they look ready for at least another 40 - 50k.
