It failed because these were doctors. They only had a rudimentary understanding of high school physics and inorganic chemistry - which by now they forgot anyhow. Had the terrorists been engineers, ordnance or pyrotechnic experts these bombs would probably have been devastating.

Maybe, but they will be implementing stricter reviewing of foregin applicants for the NHS. So if the candidate is declared even 'iffy' in some regard, his application will be set aside. In a way these guys did a great disservice for
the many would be medical hopefuls from Islamic countries who want to
work/settle/specialise in the UK. The same I bet will occur in the US,
there is a huge load of Pakistani (et al) doctors applying to work in the States and I'm sure the DHS (Homeland Security) will now look cancel
many of these. It's a bonus for would be candidates from non-Muslim

Not only medical hopefuls, I think it'll affect all Muslim would-be immigrants, this has shown educated professionals are also susceptible to this ideology, which I think is going to make things a lot harder for all Muslims, sad really.
