Uber launches pickup corrections

I called an UBER car on Thursday. The phone said "6 minutes" so I went back inside. 30 seconds later there is hooting outside, the UBER car has arrived

Although I was ready, there was a queue at the hotel desk which (in the end) took 3 minutes to resolve for the other person who was with me. As I got outside, the driver was just pulling away

I was charged R120 for a "no-show". On emailing UBER and explaining what happened, I was told that drivers do not wait. I must be ready to board when they arrive. So I requested a call report. This showed that the driver I called was 6 minutes out, but another driver who was in the next block became available and came immediately.

It seems you have to continually monitor your phone as the "arrival time" is not guaranteed.

The other way around, when you wait 20 mins for a driver 2 mins away is ok with UBER, inconveniencing the passenger does not matter. I have had to wait at the airport for a long period as the driver was in traffic, but did not update his arrival time. It was stuck on 2 mins for 18 minutes

No response from UBER about this one

Strange... Whenever I complain about anything they refund me the trip cost...
