Since the release of Ubuntu 16.04, I have come across a few systems reporting 'System program problem detected' repeatedly, caused by journald.

The simple solution is to disable disk write caching as it seems to be what causes this error.

Can confirm that Lubuntu and Xubuntu are also affected - have not tried other Ubuntu variants.

It is NOT advisable to try disabling journald as it is systemd's main logging service.

Latest Ubuntu releases I find are very buggy that is why I stay with Mint LTS versions (although based on Ubuntu LTS it is much more stable).

Agreed, having quite a few issues with latest release. Always good to have alternatives like Mint ;)
