Ubuntu bastille linux

Sounds more like something paranoid types will want to use :D

While this sounds like a good idea, it probably is not a good thing hardening a typical workstation next to the point of uselessness - this is aimed more at critical servers and PC's which need to be protected more than the average PC.
 
nope, my boxes are good and are not compromised, Though I think you would be a little mad to have a live Ubuntu box and not try everything you can to tighten it down. You boxes security is only as good as its administrator. I currently use tiger as well to tighten down my boxes.
 
It's South Africa boys. We kind of do have a reason to be paranoid... :D
 
Well either that or Gentoo. My vote would sit with Gentoo, then do a Bastille install on top of it.

I got bored of Gentoo ... years ago. It was cool back then.. its unpractical for me now :>
