Ubuntu Download During Installation Size

Hey guys,
Got capped earlier this month, got an extra gig...and don't want to use too much 'cos others need the net in the house..
Do you know how much Ubuntu downloads whilst installing? Done the 699mb bit...but gets to about 40% and starts downloading...any one roughly?

Set Ubuntu up to download the updates locally.

I have no idea, but can't you switch the router off and then it will just install what it has on the cd, without scanning the mirror?

well what I am have done, and please linux peeps let me know if I have don't something wrong...but I downloaded the normal ubuntu 8.10 set up file...the one you would normally put on a cd (did this while I was capped - am on a mweb account that only after you are capped internationally does it not include local bandwidth as part of your cap). So I downloaded that one night. The burnt it to a disk, slapped it in a windows matchine, clicked on wubi.exe (I think that is the name) and it asked which version I would like, partition size etc. Selected Ubuntu...got about 40%, and want to download, and now I don't want to use up the cap again...and it wants to download more..am I doing something wrong maybe?

The iso you downloaded and burnt to disc is the install disc. It should have everything needed to do an install. Not too familiar with using wubi, so can't comment there, sorry.
