Hey guys.

I wanna set up a home streaming type server to stream torrent movies and series. When I say streaming, I will be using something called Yify-Pop (https://github.com/yify-pop/yify-pop). I will be hosting the server as a cheap VPS in the UK. The reason for this is to prevent shaping here in SA by having the torrent info downloaded on the server in the UK, and then when it streams it to me it won't be detected as P2P traffic.

Any thoughts on which OS is best for this?

Much of a muchness. Use whichever one you're more comfortable with unless there are any specific quirks with the services you're going to be using which only affects one distro.

I prefer Centos 6.6 minimal, it's nice and light and I'm just used to using it.

Well I'm pretty familiar with both, but I'd say I'm more experienced with Ubuntu. Will probably use that then. Thanks for the input

I love CentOS minimal.
