So, the family is interested in DSTV... I look around on DSTV's web site to see what packages they offer and what not... but I quickly come to the realization that DSTV do not indicate which channels are HD and which ones are not HD.???!?!#?

Sooo, I phone them and I ask them which channels are HD and which ones are not HD and I get some vague reply that the person on the other end thinks this one and that on is HD.. WTF ?!?#?

Wow... How do you know which channels of which packages are HD and which are not... (before you buy) or is monochoice chosing the retard option not to indicate what channels are HD and what is not.. Getting HD on some channels is probably pure luck and that is why they don't indicate what channels are HD!!?#?!

In this day and age I would assume that HD is kind of important because it is like going from crap picture to great picture... But the name 'monochoice' implies mono and so this dilemma induced by this retarded organization probably makes sense?

DSTV's content is mostly 720p natively and the only channel that remotely looks good is Discovery Channel

Why don't you ask the question on the DSTV forum? One of their mods will most likely answer the question.

The simple rule of thumb is that the channels that are only available on the more expensive bouquets are HD (e.g. Mnet, the movie channels, Discovery etc), while the Free To Air channels (e.g. SABC and the various city channels) are not. The more you pay the better your experience will be, both in terms of content and quality.

With E-TV being the exception...but yah...not many people watching that on DSTV. :D
