Further to that thread this employer is claiming for UIF each month on my behalf. I resigned and left the company at the end of June. He claimed and was paid out for July and August on my UIF number into their bank account.

How do I stop this fraud as no one from the UIF can assist. Can I open a case at SAPS?

So just an update on this. 1 year later and it's starting to happen.

My previous employer phones me now saying the the UIF Fraud team is there going through all their documents saying they committed fraud with the UIF ect.

I told them yes well you claimed on my UIF number and I only got 1 payment and you guys claimed 4 times after that. The UIF is forcing them to pay back just short of R30 000 in fraudulent claims they lodged again my ID number while I was already working and permanently employed at a new employer.

Seems the wheels of justice turns very slowly but it does turn.

The best part of the wheel turning slowly is that they probably thought they got away with it....then, BAM!

I don't see any justice here. All they have to do is pay back the money? Director should be in jail!

if he was willing to commit fraud like that, not pay his bills etc.... I think theres a cashflow issue.

R30k is going to turn into a short trip away for a few months.

If I remember your situation correctly the company was acting like a big boks.

Zero sympathy and F them

So it seems to have turned into a criminal case now. The lady at the UIF Fraud and their legal team is coming to see me on Monday. They will be laying criminal charges against the company.

They tried to recover the funds and the company is only willing to pay that back when the investigation started which indicates that there was intent on defrauding the UIF.

UIF will accompany me to the police station to make an affidavit.

Now that's much better. Well done on following through, most people wouldn't have bothered with the hassle.
