How is there any honour in killing?

Muslims emigrating to a 1st-world country need to shed their stone-age practises inherited from their backward countries.
 
Nothing more honourable than throwing acid in someone's face/killing them.

They should never be allowed in in the first place, those idiots should all be confined to Islamic countries where they can carry on acting like the retarded barbarians that they are.

That's (strangely enough) exactly what I was going to ask. There was for example such a system for keeping the barbarians out, but the (rather large) mistake was made of judging how civilised people were according to their race, and that definitely did not end well as we all know now.
 
The Europeans should set out common values and have an integration policy. Multi-culturalism cannot work with idiots who still practice a 500 year old outdated religion. The EU's nanny state is largely to blame, because they attract immigrants who want to abuse the system and not carry their weight.

Because of multiculturalism and political correctness which went into overdrive under New Labour. Expecting immigrants to integrate and accept the way of life of the host country is perceived as intolerant, racist and supremacist by the left. .

Since you think you know so much about Islam, show me one verse from the Quraan or the hadeeth ( practice of prophet muhammad) that teaches men to behave in such a manner.

Me, as a practising muslim, have been taught to not even raise my voice at my wife because its unislamic, but yet what ignorant and illiterate 'so called' muslims show to the world , you generalise and blame the faith. Tells me lots about your own intellect ( lack of more like it).

Please explain Verse 4:34 of the Qur'an to me.

Men are the managers of women, because of the advantage Allah has granted some of them over others, and by virtue of their spending out of their wealth. So righteous women are obedient, care-taking in the absence [of their husbands] of what Allah has enjoined [them] to guard. As for those [wives] whose misconduct you fear, [first] advise them, and [if ineffective] keep away from them in the bed, and [as the last resort] beat them. Then if they obey you, do not seek any course [of action] against them. Indeed Allah is all-exalted, all-great.

Whatever the reason, it's an unfortunate fact that some of the worst, and most horrific violence against women is committed by Muslim men.

If it has nothing at all to do with Islam, then what's causing it?

To be sure, there are wonderful Muslims out there, like any bunch of people, but considering the level of abuses perpetrated against women in a place like Pakistan, for example, what's going on and why?

I will be the first to admit that I am purposefully looking for 'negative' verses in these texts you mention, from a position of relative ignorance. I don't know all that much about Islam, but I'd imagine like most religions it's a hodgepodge of notions, good, bad, sensible, and incoherent.

Cherry-picking? Yes, but that's sort of what you were asking for.

Incorrect translations? To be sure, I'd have no way to tell, but I'm perusing sites now, where the articles seem to be written by Muslims/ex-Muslims, who seem to know their stuff.

Then Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) pronounced judgment about her and her clothes were tied around her and then he commanded and she was stoned to death. He then prayed over her (dead body). Thereupon Umar said to him: Allah's Apostle, you offer prayer for her, whereas she had committed adultery! Thereupon he said: She has made such a repentance that if it were to be divided among seventy men of Medina, it would be enough. Have you found any repentance better than this that she sacr ficed her life for Allah, the Majestic? (Book #017, Hadith #4207)

Stoning a women to death for adultery? That's horrid, isn't it?

A woman is not allowed to give gifts to anybody without the permission of her husband:

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: It is not permissible for a woman to present a gift (from her husband's property) except with the permission of her husband. (Book #23, Hadith #3540)

Anyhow, as to be expected from ancient writings, written by uneducated people (all religious texts, for the most part), mixed up, and mashed up over the centuries, it's a mixed bag, and as is patently obvious, is interpreted in a manner that most pleases the reader.

And far too often these readers are dangerous maniacs (not in itself the fault of any one religion, but if the writing is unclear enough so that the dangerous folk can twist it to their will, I am forced to question the divine nature of any holy text).
