UK iPhone in RSA

You guys got the iPhone yet, or it's about to launch? Info online is a bit confusing...

Vodacom staff is currently test driving the iPhone 3G (as they do with all new phones). It will be released in stores shortly.

You might want to also look at the Alcatel OneTouch Easy from 1998 (http://www.gsmarena.com/alcatel_ot_easy-34.php). It too cannot MMS or send files via bluetooth and it also lack copy and paste and true multitasking ability. Just like the iPhone it also cannot record videos.

:D So true, the nokia 5110 is just as advanced!

EDIT: On a serious note tell your sister to be safe and better paranoid than nonchalant, we have some hardcore crime. It is a beautiful country though probably one of the most.

ROFL. It even allows you to swop the battery, you can't do that with the iphone. :D

Just like the iPhone, it is not available here at present.
It, too, does not natively support Java applications.
Similarily to the iPhone, critics have said the screen resolution is too low.
[-]Along the same lines as the iPhone, the OneTouch Easy does not allow BlueTooth transfer of files.[/-]

:D

That's some nice, subtly disguised anti-apple propaganda there! :-)

Yeah I know, thanks for the advice. She's been out there a whole bunch of times, and is familiar with the situation. I went out there a few years back, yours is a beautiful and fascinating country. Far be it from me to comment on any of the more problematic aspects.

Is there any other type of subtly disguised propaganda that one can have towards a fruit company that loves nothing more that proprietary things. OK - perhaps they love money and smugness more that proprietary things. :o
