Who could possibly need a speed like that? I think a 60Mbps connection from Virgin is more than enough.

Never say something like that. ;)

IPTV eats bandwidth for breakfast, especially if you stream HD channels to several devices.

Maybe our great, great, great grandchildren will experience these speeds, but I already do! :p
TENET FTW!

Arghh GB is way more sexier, pffft and a cap yuck.

Telkom as said above, give it time and we will be there (not GB though :/)

I had a 500Mb/s FTTH in Latvia for approximatle R780 p/m with NO CAP. Included was also 60 channels of digital TV(pause, rewind, on demand, watch archived shows etc.).
Since I am now back for about a year in SA, i am reduced to 4Mb/s, at least with no cap again, but i pay even more than I paid in Latvia.

500 mbs where is that bus to Latvia ?
I'm packing my bags and going.:D

ma se pa....

maby we will get there in a 100 years when the rest of the world run on 10Gbps.... avg....

Costs R1,478/month with a 750GB cap.

In comparison, most ISPs in SA charge you considerably more for a 384Kb/s ADSL 'best effort' connection with a 200GB cap.

Not quite true.. you get 1Mb/s uncapped for R199, but still... It's sickening to see how far behind we are :(

thats an episode of fringe in a second!!:wtf: i smaak this!!

Have faith...

We went from entry level 192kbps 6 years ago to entry level 1mbps.
The same time which our fastest was 1mbps and now its 10mbps, with plans to roll out 40mbps.

African time. But its happening.

Don't worry, SA will be there soon... Have faith in Telkom, theyre waking up from being dormant.

Hahaha they are not waking up they just trying to keep out of reach of the Wireless speeds so they can try and keep their customers captive on their system.

Seriously these guys are talking about 350Mbps in the house and we are getting willy chills for 40Mbps :wtf:

Telkom can't even get my line synced properly at 3Mbps but I mustn't worry... sure spin me another yarn
