Umshiniwam Translation

If you translate it directly it DOES NOT mean machine gun but simply machine.

So it's actually, if one translates it properly, my machine.

Das Teekay's na-shi-nole enfem :

Umhossi Wam’, mhossi wam
Khawuleth’umhossi wam
Umhossi Wam’ we shiff
Khawuleth’umhossi wam
Umhossi Wam’ we shiff

Khawuleth’umhossi wam
Khawuleth’umhossi wam

Wen’uyangibambezela
Khawuleth’umhossi wam
Khawuleth’umhossi wam

A similar lyrical style to Rammstein's Du Hasst.

Except in Rammstein's case they deliver a clever play on words using the similarity between the haben(to have) and hassen(to hate) verbs

Although having said that ... I've heard it said that the singing of Umshiniwam often has a sxual connotation

Umshini Wam’, mshini wam I want my machine gun
Khawuleth’umshini wam Bring my machine gun
Umshini Wam’ we baba My machine gun my father
Khawuleth’umshini wam Bring my machine gun
Umshini Wam’ we baba My machine gun my father

Khawuleth’umshini wam Bring my machine gun
Khawuleth’umshini wam Bring my machine gun

Wen’uyangibambezela You waste my time
Khawuleth’umshini wam Bring my machine gun
Khawuleth’umshini wam Bring my machine gun

Lovely... isn't it?!?

Where is the bit about 'heroes in a half shell' and 'turtle power'?

Can we get a direct translation...?

The direct Zulu - English translation is

Umshini Wam’, mshini wam = My machine, my machine
Khawuleth’umshini wam = Bring my machine
Wen’uyangibambezela = You are delaying me = You are hold me back = You are wasting my time

Guys, take it easy. Zuma won't cause any serious damage, he won't cut any existing deals with 'white' business, it makes too much money for everyone involved. Nothing will change, business wise or otherwise. When is South Africa going to realize they're not in the first world, they're in the third world and should start going about things with such a mindset. i.e. Cowboys and Indians, every man for himself.

PS: That song is not to be taken so literally.

+1. Nothing will change, we are NOT going the Zim route.

Actually! Zuma should start singing Du Hast at his rallies. It would make perfect sense if he did!

Du
Du hast
Du hast mich

Du
Du hast
Du hast mich

Du hast mich
Du hast mich gefragt
Du hast mich gefragt
Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt

Willst du bis der Tod euch scheidet
Treu ihr sein für alle Tage...

NEIN

Willst du bis zum Tod der Scheide
Sie lieben auch in schlechten Tagen....

NEIN

Du hast
Du hast mich

In English:
You
You hate
You hate me
You hate me to say
You hate me to say
And I did not obey
.
Will you until death does sever
Be upright to her forever

Never

Will you 'til death be her rider
Her lover too, to stay inside her

Never

:D

You know, the problem with that is when Sir David Frost recently interviewed him, he asked about the song and whether it is still relevant. Zuma replied that it is most definitely relevant even today.

WTF?!

Kindly ELABORATE, Mr. Future President.

That's like somebody such as Zille singing a song called "Bring back our ol' SA" at every rally and expecting there to be no reaction or at the very least expecting people to not take it literally.

So true... but face the facts... we're out numbered 10 to 1... thats why we make every one count
Thats why they use so many bullets in a machine gun... where we use 1 in a sniper rifle :D

Anybody want to write me a song for "sniper rifle"? Lets see if they like it
