Unable to Connect / Error 619

I stay in the Diep River area (Cape Town) and have suddenly noticed my 3G/HSPA performance taking a nosedive. This has taken effect during the last few weeks and my Internet connection is now barely usable. I'm using the E1752 modem.

A recent performance test on Speedtest.net server (Newlands) records the download speed as 0.08 Mb/s and upload speed as 0.02 Mb/s. See http://www.speedtest.net/result/1124620069.png

Previously, I was averaging 3-4 Mb/s down.

This is if I'm lucky enough to ever get connected in the first place. I'm being diconnected 5-6 times within the space of half an hour. Try to redial... and then experience Error 619 authetication failure. Again, and again, and again.

Cell C, what's up? This is PATHETIC.


P.S. LOVE that Customer Services Line. Called last night... gave up after 30 minutes of waiting for an agent. On the line again tonight - 34 minutes and counting...
 
That thread isn't relevant at all, in that case it was a brand new SIM card that hadn't been properly activated.

Note all of the above symptoms seemed to start around the start of the new year, could this all be part of the same problem?

There are plenty of threads. Looks like Cell C is really struggling with their network. I will continue to give them a chance to sort it out - I still believe they have invested in the best technology for their network. We shall see.
 
I am getting this error 619 now problem occured around 3am. - tried both dongles white and black. I am getting excellent RSSI but unable to connect for the past 20minutes and speaking to someone at CELL C at this hour - they might not even be clued up.

I am thinking planned firmware updates happening at the base station or something.

UPDATE: 3:56 am the network established connectivity :) Impressed at the speeds

UPDATE: 4:15am about network unstable only able to browse cell c website had to reconnect twice, seems whatever upgrade they performed on the base station is f.... It up

Upgrade - Just noticed an under construction page on cellc website explained why the service was down exactly at around 3am -9am - they busy testing out an upgrade explains why

Can't even connect tonight busy using my neotel...which is the biggest load of crap!
 
Error 619: A connection to the remote computer could not be established.

I had the same last night around 20:00, tried a few times then gave up.
