Am I the only one unable to view some DSTV channels like 112,113,114,115,120,124,126,403? This is on the premium package.

Working just hundreds for me...

Seems like today is be angry at DSTV day

Rescanned, unplugged and rescanned and I still get the same annoying error. Guess it's time to speak to a Multichoice goon. Verbal abuse FTW :D

DarkDenim - Are you on a single dish installation or sharing a community dish (in a complex) ?

That's what I'm thinking, those channels are not on the main home network so if you share a dish either your settings have gone pear or part of the transmitter is faulty

Well its probably a horizontal vs vertical polarisation. By the sounds of things he's picking up all the channels on the horizontal and not the vertical. If you're in a complex with a shared dish you'll have to get the complex's technician out to check the amplifiers/lnbs. If it's a single dish installation you'll have to get the LNB realigned/checked.

i had the same problem, all i did was disconnect the lnb wires from the decoder and the multiplexer and swopped some of them around and presto was my uncle's voila, all working again. and then i had a visit from uncle lightning...

This is happening to me as well... but it is because I am using my Dad's Dual View decoder on my single LNB Dish. I think if I want to get those other channels working I will have to get another LNB... no?

Well if both "Views" are on the same polarisation they'll both work - my understanding is that a single LNB can only receive a Vertical or Horizontal signal at a time. The decoders "instruct" the LNB to switch polarisatin to receive the signal.

so then, somehow the decoder is programmed not to look for those channels? Cos I brought my dad's decoder to my house (with his permission of course) and plugged it into my single LNB (I dunno if mine is horizontal or vertical). It gets all the channels except those few. I wondered if they had been excluded because they appear on the second TV line.

yes, me is very confused! :p

It's a shared dish.

Then check your network settings

Yours might be different but the standard setup for networks other then the home network are:
LNB LO 9 750
LNB HI 10 700
FREQ 11 210
SYMBOL RATE 30 000
NIT SMATV

For subsequent networks just keep adding 40 onto the FREQ until you get to 11370

If this looks familiar then use them, otherwise ask your neighbours
