I've had Herotel ftth since it rolled out in the Little Karoo in September '21. 50/50 uncapped at R499/month. Rock solid. Stable, full-speed as advertised, 24/7. We're a low-usage household at only 450-550 gig per month. Impressed and delighted so far.
 
That we even discuss 50 Mbps at R700 somehow being cheap shows the level of depravity this country in and how ISP's are willing to capitalizing on it. Its a ****ing joke!

Same, since January.
 
Take away the absolute pain of having to give a month notice, and wait for the ISP to release your line and then Vumatel to register it to the new ISP and make it switchable within minutes - and you'll see how fast competition heats up.
 
Meh, aren’t Afrihost and Cool Ideas on three different undersea cables? How does that impact network quality versus these no-name guys?
 
For Openserve areas, Telkom provides the cheapest option among the ISPs compared at R699 per month for its uncapped 50/50 Mbps package.

Shouldn't MyBB be asking why Telkom as a retail FTTH ISP is less expensive compared to all those other FTTH ISPs?

Is Telkom as the FTTH ISP still getting an unfair advantage from OpenServe as the wholesale FNO?

Are the other FTTH ISPs just being greedy?

WebAfrica's Vuma pricing is a promo for a limited time and then the price reverts back to R899.

The 50/40 figure is a weird anomaly or potentially a mistake. Possibly just to cover themselves since most 50/50 Vuma lines fall slightly shy of 50Mb on the upload side in speed tests.

Telkom has an unlimited premium product as well which is more expensive.

The home limited one is a promo, though seems it's been running for a year now, but unlike the web Africa one it's the same price for 24 months.

I can't find the terms and conditions though as to what makes it the lite version vs premium.

The plot thickens it seems.

I'm only questioning how Telkom has managed to undercut all of its competitor FTTH ISPs, but if Telkom's 50/50 FTTH is a promo it should be indicated in the article.

As for WebAfrica, I will never consider using WA as an ISP again.
 
Which ones are 24 month contract and which are month-to-month?
