Uncapped ADSL Express now totally sucks!

I have been on uncapped 384k adsl since March 2007.It was awesome because we were only bandwidth throttled during the day and would get full line speeds during the evening, i had no problem with this for R999 a month but now with the new threshold policy of 5GB every 10 days and a total of only 15GB for the month, this totally sucks.

My speed now is like 20kB/s tops because I reached my threshold and this is like slow ass ISDN speeds.
Is this account worth paying R999 a month for?
Are there any alternatives?
Who else is having second thoughts about staying on uncapped express adsl?
 
why are you even still subscribed to this?

you can get two 10 Gig Accounts from WebAfrica for R490 each. That's 5 Gigs more than what you are paying for!
 
Its uncapped but when you reach 15GB the speed gets throttled down to 192K for the rest of the month.It was not like this 2 months ago.
As for the 512k uncapped its exactly the same only after 30gb of usage you get throttled down to 256k which is half your line speed but Ive heard people with 512k are geting same speed as 384k once the threshold is reached.
Previously I could easily do over 100GB a month now that target is unreachable because with a speed of 20kB/s its too frustrating to download anything.

50GB account for R1000 a month would be nice, lol but not in SA.

The account is uncapped guy. I could easily do 100GB previously on that account but with the recent changes giving the 15GB threshold and than droping of the line speed i will have too wait till end of august to find out how much gigs I can get out of it.
 
I used to have the uncapped accounts, but this threshold is not cool. I moved to Openwebs 30GB vpn account for R749. It works great! Especially with torrents.

IS should be shot.

Dont wanna sound like a mofo, and I understand you're paying for an advertised "uncapped" service, but maybe that's why they've enforced this new system. 100GB is pretty high and I'm sure there's guys that do multiples of that in a month. I'm always on the PC, always on skype, and do torrent downloads every 2-3 nights and I still barely hit 30-50 gigs in a month..

Wow, I could get a SAIX based account for cheaper than R999.00 per month (R750.00 per month) and have 18 gigabytes per month. One could also get 24 gigabytes for the same price. Sure, no 192 kb/s throttled, but a very nice overall quality improvement (IMHO) and constant speed.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles :(
 
The 512k uncapped accounts where you have to use their router aren't capped, its only the expressed accounts that are capped/limited AFAIK.
