I am evaluating uncapped ADSL options at the moment, and see that Imaginet has some new(?) pricing.

However, what is missing is: static ip address, p2p allowed, 384 connection (and 192 for that matter).

Why do we see 384 / 192 dynamic ip address packages, but no static ip? My primary reason for the "uncapped" is the static ip address, and maybe around 20-30 gb per month usage.

When talking about "no p2p", what does that mean? Does it mean that only certain ports are available, or that the ISP somehow determines what is P2P traffic and what is not (and if so, how?)?

Hey moederloos.

They sell an uncapped adsl IS product.
P2p allowed.
Fixed IP x 5
no problem with sharing connection.
no cap. :)

Only reason i'm not with them at mo is the 12 month contract :(

Costs are R1450.00 per month.
Setup Fee R1500.00. ( u get a cisco router)

There has been other posts relating 2 inx in these forums lately.
Pings 2 my fav eve server(tranquility) is about 600ms.(UK based)

Thanks to all that replied, but the problem is still that they are all 512 / 1024 options. A 384 or 192 option for 600-900 rand per month is better suited for my needs. Does no one have this option?

We have a 192k option for R499, but unfortunately this does not have a static ip :(

Thanks MrBEEP. Can you please explain why there is no static ip? (Is it router related, business model related?)

Its Telkom related.

They do not allow static IP's to be given out via their IPConnect.

IS gets around this by supplying you with a router, and setting up a VPN from your place to their servers, assigning the Static IPS that way.

Our Uncapped solutions allow you to use your own router. You do not need to sign a contract either! Month to Month.

:)
