Hi guys,

We wanting to go uncapped at work, now we started using RSAWeb, but we where having daily problems with them. They told us that IS are having major problems at the moment, and its not feesable to have no internet, since we run an internet cafe!!

I wanted to know if there are any ISP's that run off the SAIX backbone and offer uncapped packages

Don't think SAIX offers uncapped but some ISPs like ODS and Gamco (I think) offer their own uncapped that doesn't go via IS.

Thanks for the quick reply, Im hunting down the net for uncapped on SIAX at the moment:D

SAIX charges its resellers per GB so I'm guessing its just not that economical for them to offer uncapped. How many GB do you need per month roughly? If its around 30 or less you could always get 3 SAIX 10GB accounts @ R500 each or so.

On an average month we go through about +-60GB of cap, which isnt really worth it. So its cheaper for us to uncapped.
This month we changed from Axxess to RSAWeb, but apparently IS are having problems. You know anything about it?

Yes IS is so incredibly useless at the moment. I cant get through a 30GB account with them anymore because everything is just to slow.

Ours was worse than slow, it just stopped working all together. It would have its moments of being super fast, other than that we where either offline or the speeds where shocking

Heard they're moving over totally to fibre, through Neotel I guess, and it should be getting better but IBIWISI. Dumped IS uncapped a couple of months ago, just didn't think it was worth it anymore.

I am currently running through M-Web (IS) uncapped and yes we had major problems last week, but when it works its quite decent for the price.

P2P is shaped during Peak to 3 KB/s but funnily enough it sometimes goes full speed in Peak. Go figure. Off Peak I average 30KB/s.

Odd . I've got Uncapped IS Business ADSL (512Kb sat) @ the office and I've done over 40Gb already. The line speed has been ~90% of capacity. There's been some issues throughout the month, but worst case was sorted out by the following day.

IS News Server has been really bad (5-10KB/s), but P2P almost max out line speed.
