Hi guys can someone help me out with some information?
Lets say you have an uncapped account, can you share it between 2 people?
I mean I can dial up from home and use that same account at another location.

Couldnt you do the same or dont they allow for multiple connections at once?

If I'm not mistaken, I don't think that most (if any at all) allow for concurrent connections.
Otherwise everyone would be sharing their uncapped.

Unfortunately most uncapped accounts are limited to one connection. They are not like the Capped accounts that allow up to 5 concurrent connections :(

At least that is the way it is with mine. The OpenWeb Uncapped Express.

But I have mine set up as the primary account on my home LAN, so all the computers at home can use that uncapped.

I suspect it might be a limitation with the IS provisioning. The accounts are shared at the ISP level, but from home you are only given one login.

Damn it man after seeing your setup Gary, I need I must have uncapped :D

hehe... Ima geek. so whatcha waiting for? Like I said, even if you don't get it every month, it is still even great for one month when you need it.

It's running nice at 420 kbps in one straight line now :D

I'm loving this IS fibre.

Really
Annoying
Showoff

Really? I can't seem to be able to justify spending r15600 a year on that.

I doubt anyone would use it all year. As it is I have only had it two months now and will probably not renew it again after next month. To keep it running all year is pointless unless you are also going to buy a new hard drive every month as well. There really is only so much you can download.... and watch.

but it is great for grabbing updates and distros as well. Can't afford it though just for the occasional use.

3rd month on uncapped. Been doing around 250 gig upwards per month. Cant see myself going without it... its such a struggle being limited. You feel so restricted. You can forget about doing rich content every day with a pathetic 3 gig cap...

I just hope it comes down in the future. Would be great to have uncapped 4 meg / 24 hour access for under R1k a month.

Well I just need to hold on 5 months and I'll be surfing with 32 Mbit/s back in Germany for R200 :X

But yeah I really hope that you'll get you uncaped lines asap.

Hmmm,

  1. No DSTV
  2. Need for work - emergency VPN
  3. Need for online Gaming
  4. Research, browsing and streaming
  5. Multiple devices connected at one location

Those are my reasons :D Although it is a luxury and I may drop it down at some point but not yet.

for me i also looked at the incremental cost from Do3 plus buying additional 3GB every month.
