Uncapped ADSL

Hi guys...

As I'm comming to SA in a while and I have been reading about the way your ISP's are giving "service" down there...

Seriously - Is it for real that youre on a limit regarding "outside" traffic... Like the fact that you have to pay if you go over some limit on 1 GB or something like that for visiting pages and downloading from sites outide SA..?
You can hardly call that "Internet" can you...:o

I have never heard that in my life in anywhere of the world... And it seems quite "dated" from where I come... (Denmark that is)
I have been on the Internet for about 15 years now and got my first ADSL line in 1998 and it has been uncapped from the word go...

So it is quite a schock to hear that a modern country as South Africa is not providing the same service... how is that...?

Dude you're crazy. Moving from an established first world country to a corrupt country like South Africa is going to be one helluva shock for you. So be prepared.

Also what is happening with the under water cable that is being layed along the east coast of Africa? Will Telkom gain control of this to? Or will this allow a new, third provider to open up?

Also best internet available is in Japan. 500mb connection although they're now upgrading to a 1gb connection

I am sorry I still dont understand how they can call it uncapped, that is false advertising is it not ?
