Totally retarded and pointless article, I agree, but if you want to feel better about our Internet, read/listen to some reviews of Google Fiber. It currently battles to stream 720p streams a lot of the time, and it looks like Google knows it ain't getting better any time soon, because they're supplying the 1TB local storage for media.
I thought the entire point of fat pipes controlled by the content pusher was to get silky smooth VOD and never worry about local stuff - but somehow Google's manage to make their 1Gbit service of lower quality than the average 10mbit American ADSL line.
It's not teething problems either, as they've had a bunch of beta customers around the city using it for 3+ months, and there are reports from them that when they surf the internet video glitches.
Will be interesting to watch and see how this plays out. Maybe Google's bitten off more they can chew here.
