Hi there

I would like to know what uncapped 4mb people are with? How has it been and how many gigs you getting a month there? Please I just need to know if anyone using more than 200 - 300 gig a month and not getting harassed by their ISP? Uncapped does not always mean uncapped to ISP. So please let me know who on what, how much GB's they using a month.

Thanks very much:)

Thanks very much. That does help :) Do you ever get hassled by them at all? How long you been a subscriber?

from november , no hassles.

you wont get hassles if don't by pass shaping etc.

i run payed news server from 12-7 am i get near 500kps, i have 6mb line.

tv show im downloading today is 1.6gb alone( i think this one is tad longer then normal show), i watch a few all of them 720p, 1080p movies is 15gb the good ones :(

i will be honest i dont watch most of the normal ones, though i watch all my shows and my hd movies.

I'm also on mweb's standard uncapped account and I've gotten 300gb before. But that was a busy month :p... On the whole I'm very impressed with mweb uncapped.

I'd be interested to know what home theatre you have.

My quad core with 4GB RAM and 1TB HDD with XP SP3 MCE is sukkeling to show 1080 movies on my big screen. And no, I haven't got a clue what graphics card it has. I do know it takes up two or three slots on the board and I can't fit a second one.

I can't say anything bad about MWEB ADSL accounts. However, Vodacom does a product for +/- R2,500 a month that that we use for hotspots in the gramadoelas. It comes with a Cisco router and is unshaped. We pump 500GB+ a month on them in a "commercial" environment without any problems.

naa don't have home system , i use my pc for hd content.

though cant wait to get nice system going for it, one day when i have decent job :P

Tried digichilli when they were new, switched to Mweb and haven't looked back. 80Gb per month average.

I have had good service from Axxess and their R19/GB Lite offering.

the mweb uncapped account is very good but truth be told the shaping is also very serious. if u dont have a paid for news server account then u most probably wont get full line speed most of the time unless the content u downloading is cached. another thing is most of the paid for newserver accounts r shaped, only a few r not. all in all the account is very good for the price especially if u can pull atleast 100gb pm i think its great value for money

Um... They have a free news server - more than most other services. Is there a local service where you can use a free news server at full speed? I don't think it's so much down to throttling but caching - the telkom news server that the 4Mbps MWEB account uses is about the best you will find for free in SA. The IS news server is alot slower (used on slower mweb accounts).

A good torrent will pull faster than the free news server - the news server maxes out at 100k usually. Mostly getting around 30k. Astraweb gets around 100+k if you're prepared to pay ($25 for 180Gb)
