Hi guys,

I'm on afrihost uncapped and today was hell. I spent the entire day dialed up to an unshaped account because I was tired of the laggy responses on the uncapped, and now this evening is way worse!!!!!!!!

I know it's early days, but it's really frustrating. Anybody else in bitch mode?

I'm on Axxess Express and I'm getting really bad pings :(
 
Are you noticing high latency with your account? my line speed is fine and fast but latency on games is shocking :confused: for local
 
I'm experiencing extremely high latency. The strange things is I get a lower ping against a server in Maputo than the Joburg servers. vs Maputo I get around 75ms, vs Vodacom Pretoria I get 95ms, vs Altech Joburg I get 150ms.
 
Yes, it's the latency that is annoying me too. I don't want to request a website, and wait seconds for it to start loading.

I think it's a plot to get us to beg for capped service back.

I want to jump back to capped ship!!!!!!!!

Maybe WA while im trying to work, and
Afrihost uncrapped for downloads

Just spoke to a mate that's using my WA 30GB account and he says the thing is dog slow with high pings so suss it out first.
 
Im on an afrihost normal 5gb account and 800ms on my favorite game! I am not a happy camper.

To be fair, my telkom account is also giving me 700-900ms tongiht. wtf is going on ?

@OP: Wait a day or 2. That sounds like a routing issue which might just go away.

I'm on a 384k line though so can't really comment on top speed on 4mbps. Everything maxes out on 384k.
 
Don't know what you people are on about, Mweb going great, browsing is fast, skype is good, gaming 50 -100 ms latency local.
 
Guys if you want UNSHAPED data why not email Laurie at cybersmart and get him to tailor you a package. If you are happy doing your downloads at nightrider time and weekends and want to have solid pings the UNSHAPED is the only way to go.

I admit I am now a bit of a FanBoi but he tailored me a package that makes me VERY happy!

To be fair if you want to download 24/7 365 then don't waste your time though. They will be launching a shaped uncapped for those who just care about volume(so I am told).

Me and a friend has been having the same issue.

pinging www.saix.net gives 122ms (I'm on afrihost uncapped which goes over is backbone?)
Wish they could route depending on service, cause that would not be a problem except for gaming.
I can download at full speeds though. Even though Youtube requires more buffering.

Hope it's all just temporary
