Seriously, ever since this uncapped garbage has been introduced my Internet connection has gone from amazing to good to bad to absolutely suicide worthy. The answer is clear and simple! Telkom cannot handle the traffic and amount of bandwith being downloaded/uploaded on the current infrastructure.

I am using Cybersmart 4Mbps with Night Rider and weekender 3. This effectively means I am able to download around 200 - 500 GB with my 3 GB cap. Now this is feasible for the network traffic but since uncapped has launched, people are downloading 100s of GB per day! I mean WTF are you guys busy downloading?? this is pathetic and ridiculous by both users and ISPs. Users because they are inconsiderate and download 100s of GB per day effectively meaning some of us or most of us are left without any internet to use! And f------ ISPs because they rushed into this uncapped garbage without taking into consideration of how bad! the network will become due to lack of proper infrastructure!

My latency is 3x more than it used to be! I have not been able to use the damn internet during the day for more than a month now and something HAS to be done! :mad::mad::mad:
 
Network can handle it... the ISPs are doing the throttling!
 
My uncapped is fine thanks! ;)

And as we have come to realise from numerous interactions, it is all about the individual around here.

EDIT: 4Mbps conenction and I cannot even watch a 45 second video on YouTube -____- Internet bandwith abusers are worse than cheese flavored chips.

It was the same on my side last week. When you guys had problems, mine was okay. This is not on! If you guys cannot see the pattern then you are just ignorant. There is clearly a HUGE problem and no network can be sustained with such issues.

But then again the OP should probably specify that it is the 4Mb "bandwidth abusers" that suck. In fact all 4Mb users. My little 384k line is doing just fine. And I am doing 10 times less damage than one of the 4Mb "bastards" ;)
 
Cybersmart is on SAIX right? Should be fine as it's on a different network to the Uncapped accounts (Uncapped = Seacom)

Me too - 384 ADSL and then a much faster T3G account!!

Yeap but I am having problems still. Cybersmart uses SEACOM after 1AM due to Night Rider.

Well I only download on the weekend with maximum 3 GB cap per month. I have every right to complain because I do NOT abuse the internet for free stuff. Seriously, if people still cannot afford Music CDs, movies etc then you should all get a better job or go back to school and try again for a better future so you can afford $15 DVDs instead of downloading them and ruining the network for most.

Sorry, but the OP is being really stupid.

Whats happening now is only pushing ISPs to get more BW which makes for a better infrastructure...

This puts more pressure on telkom to release the LLU aswell.

Try to think a little more please.

I just don't understand how people are ok with paying large sums of cash for a capped service and the internet was never "amazing" in this country, its always been shi7e.

The most pathetic thing to say is 'I have a fast ADSL connection limited to 3GB' ... Yea... you can DL for 5Hrs and get capped, well done, you just got raped.

Instead have a slightly lower speed with an uncapped ADSL account that hopefully does put pressure on the network that pushes all the ISPs to make a better deal with a better network... its something called competition, probably something you have not heard of.

Come now, lets not ruin a good story with facts. Telkom is the bad one. Telkom who had to help out carry this precious Seacom traffic. Telkom who is upgrading to 10Mb lines. lol. The problem is not with Telkom, but with the ISPs who could all magically pull an uncapped service out of the hat after Mweb.

Ofcourse they will throttle the service and make it perform "poor". Else all their previous lies about no bandwith would be exposed.

I love chips WITH cheese on them but anyways, I'm on 4mb as well and 720p videos load fine without buffers. So I don't know whats up on your side =(
