Need some honest advice, seems that uncapped is a total or maybe not total but it is a failure IMO with people moaning about speed, latency etc.

The Axxess Express+ would seem, to me, that this would be the best residential route to go on 4mb or even on 1mb.

Would you guys agree? I want to download quite a bit, maybe 100-200 gigs a month watching tv series etc.

Would you recommend the Axxess route over say Mweb, not even considering Afrihost which seem to have vanished into thin air.

I am not sure about axxess but people did well over 200gb on mweb, i did like 102gb. How much is the express+?

Well if it was my money i would take mweb for a spin just to see, some seriously heavy numbers i saw last month. 300-400gb. Worth testing and knowing than blowing 1.4k when a 539 account can be doing the same thing and wasting cash. Shaping and that should not really matter, it should be about the total and not about whether you can go at 400kb/s during the day :D.

Mweb for me is a pleasure, awesome speeds during the day on http etc and then i can pull 7-10gb a night. I pulled 6.5gb last not as much as i thought i would but still i can live with 6-10gb a night.

In all fairness, the MWEB uncapped account works flawlessly if you use it to just browse and read email. Even downloading patches and game demos and such is no problem at all. Downloading 24/7 from torrents and Rapidshare is not what it was intended for but is still usable if you are prepared to just wait a little longer. It's on this last point that people are getting slow speeds and complaining about. I do not think that is a valid reason though. If you do want to backup the internet there is other accounts that will cater for those needs.

I still get between 50KB/s and 150KB/s during the day, just not line speed which is fine. Slower than that I will also start raising eyebrows though :D

I'm pretty happy. It's not too expensive and the bandwidth management issue from previous months are a thing of the past now.

??? If I wanted to browse and get e mail why in gods name would I need uncapped in the first place?

Uncapped is for downloading !!
Maybe they should call these products by a different name? These products are by no means stable or even close to what they advertise.

Well I'm on mweb, and yesterday i did: 22524.3MB ... although I must say I would not reach that figure without using Downstorm converting my torrents into http downloads. With a service like that you could easily manage running full line speed downloads all day (well not if seacom acts up.) This month so far my stats are on:

You have used 78.76 GB so far this month.

For the money I would go with Mweb. Hopefully they don't go changing their terms.

Ya awesome. Stop worrying and try it, go look at that thread i posted and tell me how people are pulling 200gb via browsing and checking email like some nooblet mentioned.

We all know mweb have a bad rep but honestly their 4 meg uncapped is just amazing.

Oh really?!? Funny everywhere in the world they still have fair usage policies on uncapped accounts. It might be much higher than what it is currently in SA but then again BW is much much cheaper in those countries. We are getting there though I think. I still maintain 150GB - 200GB for SA is a good start. Less is most definitely not good. More is first prize of course. That will happen eventually!! Doing 1TB per month is just :confused::confused::confused:

Well if Mweb has no problem with people watching streaming DSTV content i'm sure they'll let us get away with some downloads.
