I know I have been doing a lot of gym/dietary threads but a quick warning to others-
Be aware of under eating - Realised I have been eating sub 1000 calories for 4 months -

Didn't even realise my calorie intake was that low as I was theoretically eating 3 set meals

Been sticking on 1500 calories for 4 days, not sure if its placebo but feeling more energetic and positive than I have in a while.

Even 1500 calories seems like undereating? Whats your height and weight?

Im short ^_^

1.67m
68kgs,
Approx 15% BF

I'm seeing how 1500 calories goes -
I was eating 800 calories a day for close to 4 months 0.o

Lost a fair amount of weight and then stalled completely (N stomach fat refused to let go) got light headed all the time etc etc.
The calorie amount wasn't on purpose, I just nver bother to do a calorie count - what I ate "sounded right

Aiming for 62 kgs, (which would theoretically put me at 7ish % BF)

Bro do you even lift? Just kidding.

You are defiantly malnourished, you should be eating at least 5 small meals a day with healthy snacks and supplements (if you want) in between.

Ferk I wish I could be as lucky as you are :D

Starvation dieting is extremely dangerous. It's good that you realized what was happening in time. Weight loss and body fat percentage is only a small part of the goal of a health regime, which is looking good and being healthy.

I'm not going to go higher now because I actually can't - I am full constantly -
Doing a diet log now- and trying to get a bit of everything

Yesterdays Log:

Breakfast:
2 eggs + whole grain toast (1 slice) + tomato

Mid Morning:
Banana

Lunch:
Coffee with 1 sugar
Chicken avo and tomato whole wheat roll - no sauces

Afternoon Snack:
Handful of peanuts

Dinner

3 x whole wheat cracker bread
Low far cottage cheese
Can of tuna
peppadews

then a protein shake post workout
(moderate intensity)

According to my food log thats 1400 calories (incl margerine where applicable etc)

Also theres usually veg somewhere - there just wasn't yesterday

OK I may not know much about diets, but I am a fat guy a nd that meal would fill me up

If you are indeed a fat guy(without any medical conditions), and only ate 1400 calories a day you honsetly wouldn't be a fat guy:p

+1

1500 calories, no thanks, avg 500 calories a meal, at least 6 meals a day, still dropping body fat off and have enough energy to blast through the day and gym.

on meds for another 3 more years and its driving me crazy. benign brain tumor removed 2 years ago. I just seem to have blown up with the meds.

Keep in mind its not small crackers, its cracker bread, I'd say equivalent to 2 slices of whole wheat, add generous helpings of tuna n cottage cheese and it's surprisingly filling

Keep in mind you said one tin of tuna. How's that generous. But I suppose I need a lot more to keep me going, I weigh almost double your weight :p

I also didn't know much about calories, etc. But I started running this year and read up about it. So what I did was get an app called My Fitness Pal. You just input what you eat every day and it gives you your calories. Easy. I average between 1700 and 2500 per day. Depending on what I eat and if I drink alcohol, etc. One thing I can say, be careful of the booze. You can easily "overeat" because of your beers or bottle of wine, etc.

But most sources recommend between 2000 and 2500 for a fairly active adult male. 1500 is just a bit low. Also your diet seems a little light if you ask me.
